Target audience
Our research and investigation into media conventions used by independent social realism films within the areas of film posters, film magazines, film websites, film opening scenes and trailers has enabled us to determine who our target audience/market are.
We have decided to target both genders aged of 16-21 years old, as this age range has particularly seen and adapted most to the life of rapid technology progression - they are simply referred to as "digital natives". This age range is also economically independent, as they can work and earn money on their own, thus being able to watch films in cinemas, purchase film magazines and posters (areas of marketing that we both looked at).
We also decided to target both genders, as our film involves the lives of two characters, the main male character Richard-Henry and a female character Louise.
The certification for our film however will be a 15, as it includes violence, bad language and infrequent scenes of drug dealing.
Our secondary target audience are 23-30 year olds, those who want to know more about young people as they may want to relive their past school experiences again.
