Poster Drafts (Mikaela)

 Poster Layout
I decided that I would set my poster out like this after doing research on current film posters. I noticed that all posters have reviews on them, this is because if people se that a major name for example the daily mail have reviewed the film and said that it is good it will persuade people to go and watch it. I have decided to use two different pictures because I wanted to show the difference in our characters emotions from the start of the film compared to how he is feeling at the end of the film. I've also decided to include the main characters names on the front of the poster because I noticed that a lot of current film posters do this because the actors may have previously been in a different film therefore they may already have a group of fans so this will attract their fan base.

First Draft
When I was doing my first draft of my film poster I stuck to my original poster layout plan. The reason I decided to stick to my original idea is because I felt that I had included all of the codes and conventions of a current film poster. I decided to put the pictures in black and white and I set the colour of the poster as grey because I thought that it the dark and dull colours worked well with the theme of the film as for the majority of the film the emotions are depressed and I feel that grey represented this.

Poster Analysis
After I had completed my first draft of my poster I decided to annotate it and state why I done certain things.

Second draft

When I was doing my second draft I didn't stick to my original poster layout. This was because after doing more research into existing social realism film posters I realised that it didn't fit the typical look of an existing film poster so I changed the layout.
