It is, November 2nd 2011, Richard-Henry Smithes, an intellectual fifteen year old boy finds out that his father is relocated to a rough, urban area; due to job complications. Richard-Henry consequently has to move school from a private (the private Academy of Albert High) to a public school (Parkwoods High School). This he finds too overwhelming as he doesn’t fit in with the ‘popular’ and ‘cool’ students due to him, being stereotyped as being ‘snobby ‘and ‘high maintenance’.

When Richard-Henry first started at Parkwood high he found it extremely hard to fit in, all the other students judged him and thought he was nothing but a snob which is why they started to bully him. However one of the boys in the gang that was bullying Richard pitied him and convinced the rest of the gang to let him do an initiation test and if he passes he will be allowed to join the gang. Of course Richard-Henry agreed on doing this even though he knows he shouldn't because he wants to fit in so bad even if it means him changing his personality. He becomes close with one the girls in his class who also talks to the people in the gang however she is not a member, she is smart just like Richard-Henry however she covers up and acts dumb to fit in, she only reveals her real self around Richard-Henry which is why she knows that she needs to protect him and stop him from trying to fit in with the gang, she tries to make him realise that what he is doing is wrong and he doesn't need to change. Richard-Henry ignores her and just thinks that she is jealous because she hasn't got the chance to join the gang, Louise decides that she needs to confront his parents and tell them what he is doing, and of course they are angry and disappointed. Richard-Henry carry’s on misbehaving and getting into trouble, he always bunks school as well.

Richard-Henry realises his mistake and so he decides to quit the gang. After doing this he rekindles his relationship with his parents. Louise and Richard-Henry are officially in a relationship. The gang taunts him, as they want him back. They then tell him that if he doesn't go back being a gang member they will kill Louise. Richard-Henry meets gang bringing his girlfriend, Louise to settle the issue. Sam, the head gang member gets his knife out and kills Louise.
